Daniel Uranga (Mexico City, 1995) studied architecture at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He is a multidisciplinary artist whose work intersects installation, sculpture, and architecture.
Through the physical materials used in his work, his discourse diverges into two paths. The first stems from a traditional dialectic wherein materials retain their original form, meaning, and function. The second looks to bridge thoughts based on day-to-day experiences, pushing emotional boundaries deeply rooted within himself.
The bodily actions reflected in his sculptures and installations are representational of encounters where materials weave ideas, feelings, excesses, confusions, and passions. These actions seek to produce a psychological connection directly with viewers.
Uranga's work is anthropological at its core, positing alternative ways of understanding human existence through experiential relationships between the natural and unnatural.
